How can we help- At Design Filter, we regularly produce 3d printed prototypes for clients to visualise and refine their ideas before going into production and paying for expensive moulds etc to be produced. 3D printing and rapid prototyping has amazing benefits for an extremely modest cost.

3D Printing & Prototyping –3D printing is perhaps the most exciting development in the world of product development. It’s also called additive manufacturing, where a 3D prototype is created by adding layers on each other, to give shape to the product.

3D printing is used in numerous industries – wherever a 3D model of a product is required. It’s a digital process in which input is taken from CAD or Computer Aided Design. Since this process is advanced and produces quick and realistic models, it’s also called rapid prototyping. The advantage of 3D printing is that it can be used at any stage of product development. It’s   utilized at the pre-production called rapid prototyping, or even during post manufacturing stage, called rapid manufacturing. Product development, design and improvements therefore becomes a continuous process.

3D Printing is essentially an additive process. Layers of products are created using different methods. Printing machines can be chosen depending on the quality of prototype, material used for layering, speed of printing process and the overall cost.

Expertise in 3D Printing techniques can hasten the process of product development and reduce cost and time in bringing finished goods to market. Since it is an inherently involved procedure, an experienced team is required to optimize the overall process.
