Initial Concept
The “best” ideas are often those that come about as the result of a need. Once you have come up with the idea for a product, you will need to have drive & determination to see it through to production.
This may be a concept for a brand new product or an idea on how you can fix or improve an existing product.
Product Brief
At our initial consultation, we will discuss your product idea in detail and determine how best we can help you… This may include some or all of the design process steps.
To maximise the benefit you get from our initial consultation, we suggest that you provide us with as much information as possible via our product design brief form.
Design Plan
We sit down with you, review your requirements in detail, and help you prepare a plan for all of the activities you need to turn your idea into reality.
The planning stage may involve a variety of activities, including (but not limited to) :
- Market Research
- Brainstorming
- Competitor Analysis
- Ergonomics
Design Phase
This is where your product begins to take shape.
We start with hand drawn sketches (this is the most efficient way to visualise and explore a variety of design concepts) and complete this phase with the initial computer based 3D Design – ready for refinement and fine tuning in later stages.
Prototype & Testing
At this stage we physically create a mock up of your product concept, and get to touch and feel it, and see how it behaves in the real world.
This phase includes testing the product functions, textures, size, ergonomics and fine tuning the design to resolve any issues.
Product Manufacturing
The final phase is manufacturing – where we get to turn your initial concept into reality.
We help you liaise with the manufacturing company to produce your product.
